A range of issues applies to all biomedical prevention research areas. These include community engagement, the ethics of clinical trial design and conduct, and the need to plan ahead for future access if any new strategy shows a benefit. This section provides an introduction to many of these topics and links to additional useful resources.

For specific information on a given intervention (e.g., vaccines, PrEP, male circumcision), please visit the By Prevention Option section.

In addition, we offer introductory materials that advocates can use to increase their own knowledge around HIV prevention research or to teach others in their communities about ongoing research.
