Support the AVAC Fund
The AVAC Fund is a small-scale "emergency fund"
to assist clinical sites that require immediate
help with purchases such as additional medical
or lab supplies not covered by grants or
contracts for biomedical HIV prevention
research. In some settings, scientists working
on cohort development and trials often confront
critical needs not covered by their budgets.
Some of these needs could be satisfied with
less than $2,000.
Contributions to the Fund are tax deductible and are managed separately from AVAC's operating funds.
The AVAC Fund is a direct and tangible way to assist clinical trial sites in communities that are struggling with the devastation of AIDS and to reward their heroic efforts in the search for new prevention options.
If you are interested in making a contribution to the AVAC Fund, please inquire with Marie Semmelbeck at 646-369-1473 or marie@avac.org. You may also make a donation by credit card.
If you are involved at a trial site and would like more information on applying for a grant from the AVAC Fund, please email avac@avac.org and put "AVAC Fund" in the subject line. A committee consisting of HIV prevention research investigators from around the world reviews proposals and makes recommendations to a special committee of the AVAC Board.
