Webinar series on the 17th CROI Conference
March 11, 2010
Participation in the 17th
Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic
Infections (CROI) conference itself remains
out of reach to many due to space constraints,
high cost and a limited number of scholarship
slots. To help bring the information and
dialogue from the conference to a much broader
audience than is able to attend in person, AVAC
is conducting a series of post-CROI HIV
prevention research webinars. Similar to last
year's series, these webinars are meant for
anyone who is interested in an update on the
research presented at CROI, wants to build
skills for watching presentations with a
critical eye, and understand the science.
We organized four webinars, which cover
a range of HIV prevention
topics:
- March 11, 10-11am ET: Male circumcision scale-up, presenter: Kim Dickson, WHO. Download the recording.
- March 18, 10-11am
ET: Antiretroviral
therapy and risk of HIV transmission in
serodiscordant couples, presenters: Deborah
Donnell, Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS
Research and Prevention, and Jared Baeten,
University of Washington. Download
the recording.
- March 25,
10-11am ET: RV
144 update and the path forward in HIV vaccine
research, presenter: Col Nelson Michael, US
Military HIV Research Program (MHRP). Download
the recording.
- April 1, 10-11am ET: Antiretrovirals for HIV Prevention: Panacea or Pandora's Box?, presenter: Ken Mayer, Brown University and Fenway Health. Download the recording.
Each of the webinars feature a short overview from the presenter, with the rest of the hour devoted to facilitated discussion.
