Global Webinar: The Impact of Treatment as Prevention -- Models to Guide Ending the Epidemic

January 26, 2012

This webinar featured a presentation by Dr. John Blandford discussing work that he and his team have developed to project the impact of scaled-up antiretroviral treatment coverage on health, new infections and financial costs associated with the AIDS response. Work by Dr. Blandford and others has helped shape global discussions about the feasibility and potential of using treatment as prevention—including earlier treatment of HIV at CD4 counts greater than 350—as a key tool for ending the epidemic.

Featured speaker: Dr. John Blandford, Chief of the Division of Global HIV/AIDS Health Economics, Systems, and Integration Branch at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Center for Global Health
