An array of thematic skills-building sessions also will be conducted including an introduction to new prevention technologies and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), a short course on prevention research literacy and ethics, and training on advocacy and campaign building.

M2010 Journalist Training Program
Saturday, 22 May 2010, 8:30am - 3:30pm

One-day program designed to provide relevant background, context and detail in order to help inform reporting on biomedical HIV prevention research. The focus of this year’s conference has been expanded beyond microbicides to include the array of experimental biomedical prevention interventions. The training will be covering many of the same topics, such as vaginal and rectal microbicides; antiretroviral-based prevention, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP); vaccines; and male circumcision implementation. Journalists will hear directly from investigators about the latest breakthroughs and setbacks and about what’s expected in the year to come. We are still working on finalizing the agenda and speaker line-up, so look for more information in the coming weeks.
