    Mirroring the need for intersectionality and inclusivity in the fight to end HIV/AIDS, the People’s Mobilization on the National HIV/AIDS Strategy Counter Conference is a community-built space that aims to empower constituencies most impacted by HIV to be in control of the dialogue. The Counter Conference happened in parallel with the National HIV Prevention Conference (NHPC) as an alternative and accessible space for those who cannot attend the larger NHPC.

    The National HIV Prevention Conference allowed for in-person collaboration between researchers and program personnel planning and implementing HIV prevention and care programs. The conference brought together more than 3,000 individuals who are working to stop the domestic spread of HIV. It provided an opportunity to continue refining, improving and strengthening our nation’s response to HIV.

    The Rockefeller University invited people to learn about promising new approaches to treat and prevent HIV. Attendees heard about ongoing research with broadly neutralizing antibodies, components of the body’s immune system that can be harnessed to attack HIV, and perspectives from scientists, doctors, HIV advocates and volunteers in clinical trials about their experiences with HIV research.
